Helping Hands Work Camp

Home

Helping Hands Mission Camp began in 2005 as an opportunity for youth to help local residents with their home maintenance needs and to bring great youth together from many different churches. We work hard during the day and play hard at night with hearty home cooked food, great music and fun entertainment.

Our first year (2005) Our theme was "Mission Possible". We had 11 campers from 4 different denominations and completed 3 projects ranging from painting a building to replacing the roof and siding on a garage.

In 2006 our theme was "We Are the Body". 14 campers from 5 churches completed 9 projects which included building a wheelchair ramp, cleaned an acre yard and putting together a metal shed.

In 2007 our theme was "Faith In Action". 26 campers from 4 different denominations completed 10 projects including a 32' wheelchair ramp, painting a house, cleaning a big yard (taking away 15 truck loads of trash), building a shed and repairing a porch.

Camp 2008's theme was "Living for Christ", our verse was 1 Timothy 4:12. The number of campers doubled to 52 from 2007. We completed 16 worksites which included a 24' handicap ramp, a walkway, painting and yard clean ups. Participation included people from 7 different local churches.
